yes there are a few very serious about quitting.....but there are those that do not get it ....that they have to avoid ppl, places, playthings and get into some kind of assisted recovery program (like coco - she is always going back to it) ....but I enjoy reading those addicts that are more insightful about what is going on - Carol, Theresa, MM1, Isabell, Dennis, even Jerry from time to time............even though at the end of the day I have to come to various conclusions about MY life I do like to understand those who suffer from addiction what they think................the other night I got together with a girlfriend who I had not seen for a looonnnnnggg time - she is now studying to be a pychologist..................she went on a 3 month sabbatical NOT TALKING TO ANYONE except where really had to (to function only)......This allowed her to really analyze herself and she realized and understood her addiction (which was to food and she was obese)..........man she is doing great - lost a TON of weight.....this period of time to herself to reflect enabled her to choose a career path she loves, and also understand that she needed to let go of the battle and struggles she had everyday and realize that she had a problem with food and therefore how does she go about avoiding the 'cravings' she had.....very interesting the parallels to a drug addict.......she also played a piece of a 2 set DVD she had on the human mind........that showed addiction (among other things) and what happens to the synapses when the fake endorphines are thrown at them......she also mentioned a movie out now - soon to come out on DVD this month "what the BLEEP do we know" - has anyone seen it? Apparently VERY interesting and one of those movies that you need to go quite a few times to process......I have not asked what it is about because from what I hear from a number of people it is very enlightening and I do not want to be 'tainted' by their viewpoint.....I want to discuss it with them AFTER I have my own.......anyway she said this was very helpful to her as well.
