About Me

You might wonder why I would devote my time to this site. No, I am not a recovering addict of any kind. My experience with Julie destroyed me for 6 months. I searched the Internet time and time again but found no real life information to ease the emotional pain or tell me how to deal with the situation. I couldn't understand what was happening. I have volunteered for many years in community service and feel it is important for all of us to give to this community of life. If we all give a little, life gets better for everyone.

I am now 60 years old. In my twenties I had a brief stint as a probation officer. I attended pharmacy school after that but did not graduate. I do have a clinical understanding of drugs. I have an AA Degree, a Bachelors Degree and attended graduate school. For the past 15 years I have worked in my own computer company, mainly dealing in computer networking and building Web sites. I am also a certified mediator and am an active mediator in my local county court system.

Through Julie I have met many crack addicts, both men and women. Because of her I have also met and interviewed administrators of various types of drug treatment facilities. I have also interviewed probation officers. Then of course it's the police, jail, courts, public defenders, physicians, hospitals and on and on. I am confident I have the big picture of the crack world.

In creating this site I felt I had the education and life experience that could be helpful to others. After operating this site for over six years I have additionally obtained a wealth of information from the experiences of those affected by crack addicts. I also have received hundreds of emails thanking me for the help the Web site has provided.  Due to these emails, I know I am doing the right thing. I hope this little Internet ray of information will be helpful to you.
